Milinda joined The
Girls Next Door in 2001 but has been performing since she was
four years old. First as a dancer and then singing when she
came home from the 1st grade one day and sang Edelweiss for her
mother. She and her two brothers used the fireplace hearth as
their fist stage until their Dad built a real stage in the
basement. Before high school was over, Milinda had performed as
a dancer (ballet, jazz, tap & Pointe), a gymnast, a majorette
and a singer but it wasn't until after college that she ventured
into musical theater.
After graduating
Regis college with a BA in Management & Communications, she
started voice lessons with Eddie Watson at the Steinway Building
in Boston and auditioned for the Barnstable Comedy Club on Cape
Cod, Ma. She got in and was hooked! Since then she has been in
over 25 theatrical productions, been a lead singer in 3 bands,
has been a costume designer, musical director and director.
Of her years of
training, many have been spent at the Professional School for
the Arts studying voice, musical theater, tap and theater
dance. She has been a scholarship recipient there multiple
times for voice and music theater. She was also a scholarship
recipient for Karen Morrow's Singer's workshop. That is where
she worked her songs for her Cabaret act. Milinda continues to
perform in theatrical productions throughout Southern
California.
